Hey! I’m Natalia (she/her/ella), a therapist who is dedicated to supporting diverse individuals, 18 years and older, who are navigating chronic pain or illness, anxiety, depression, or trauma.
I am passionate about working with adults who are BIPOC (Black, Indigenous or a Person of Color), neurodivergent, and/or queer, who are experiencing chronic illness, or who have someone in their life who has a chronic medical condition. I also work extensively with individuals who have experienced trauma, including intergenerational trauma and medical trauma.
My mission is to create a welcoming space where we can explore your thoughts and feelings, free from judgment, while providing you with ways to learn more about your mental health and offering new approaches to find some relief in your life.
My Approach:
As a therapist with 9 years of experience working with immigrant communities and BIPOC clients and their caregivers in medical settings, you can expect me to use a holistic and culturally-attuned approach in our sessions that is tailored to meet you where you're at.
I don’t believe in a “one size fits all approach” in therapy and I use a blend of modalities to help you learn strategies to regulate your nervous system, find the language and tools to understand why you might be feeling the way you do, and process some of the challenging things you have experienced in life. Throughout all of this, I also hold space for discussing how your identity and lived experience intersects with the stressors you are navigating.
I use therapies that include EMDR, brainspotting, dialectical behavior therapy, narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), culturally-adapted cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed practices. Together, we'll address any depression, anxiety, shame, guilt, chronic pain, grief, or anger so you can begin to see the changes you want in your life.
Fun Facts About Me:
I have two puppies named Flan and Osito who I firmly believe have a mission in life to make sure I never sleep.
I really enjoy spending time outside, so if it's nice out you can find me sitting in my backyard or exploring a park/hiking trail with my dogs.
I love writing, drawing, and watching my comfort TV shows
I can be a bit of a nerd, especially when it comes to talking about mental health. I read my first psychotherapy book when I was 15 years old.
